Mini-Biography:

Bob "Bobalu" Lewis was on the original Magic 96.1 airstaff.  He is a 1977 Graduate of Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio with a B.A. degree in Communications-Radio/Television.  Prior to Magic 96.1 some of the stations he worked at included WKRC & WLW in Cincinnati, WSNY in Columbus and WLCS in Jacksonville FL.  After leaving Magic 96.1 in 1988 he went back to Jacksonville for stints at WEJZ and WIVY, then moved to Charleston for a stint at the Oldies outlet then known as "The Bridge" where he had a long run.  He also worked for Piggly-Wiggly Carolina in retail management before his stint at "The Bridge."

Regarding Magic 96.1 he told us that, "The original airstaff was me (Bobalu), Drew Lane, Don Schaeffer, Toni Trublood, Vicky Lewis and Jim Reary.  We put the station on in the spring of 1987-as I said I helped put it on-Don Kidwell (has passed) was the General Manager.  When I left Magic I went to Jacksonville Florida to work afternoons at Lite 96.1 where I spend 8 years (I have a thing for working at the 96.1 frequency!)  Then I went to Hilton Head and Savannah to work at Oldies 98 then to Charleston SC-worked at a few stations including Sunny 96.9 and most recently "The Bridge" at 105.5-my family is here. When Don Schaeffer and I were there Magic was at its height! We had an interesting format-every other song was a Motown song."
